Ratos has a long tradition of contributing to society.
Our primary contribution is to be an active and responsible owner that develops long-term profitable and resilient companies that create value for both shareholders and society.
We also contribute through our ownership structure, where our two principal shareholders, the Ragnar Söderberg Foundation and the Torsten Söderberg Foundation, are among Sweden's largest private funders of scientific research.
In addition to the dividend paid to the foundations, we also support selected partners, including the Stockholm School of Economics and the Inkludera Association.
The Söderberg family was one of the founders of the Stockholm School of Economics, established in 1906, and we continue to support it to this day through long-term engagement and collaboration.
The Inkludera Association
Inkludera was founded in 2011, driven by a desire to strengthen Swedish society.
By working with social innovations developed at grassroots level, the vision of countering various forms of social exclusion is brought to life. Together with the entrepreneurs behind these initiatives, financially sustainable and scalable organisations are built.
Ratos has been involved on the board and provided partial funding since 2014. Inkludera is one of Ratos's foremost societal commitments, rooted in the conviction that a cohesive, thriving society is a prerequisite for long-term sustainable business.
Long-term partnerships for sustainable development
Inkludera's partnerships are long-term in nature, aimed at professionalising the organisations and packaging their unique methods into solutions that can be sold to municipalities. The goal is for them to become financially sustainable and to grow so that they can reach many more people. Over the years, the association has contributed to more than 1,000 agreements with over 125 Swedish municipalities.

Idrott utan Gränser
Idrott utan Gränser works to ensure that more children and young people are seen and affirmed by introducing meaningful activities in PE lessons, after school and during school holidays.
Maskrosbarn
700,000 children in Sweden have a parent with an addiction, mental illness or who subjects them to violence. At Maskrosbarn, children receive long-term support, a sense of community and the opportunity to change their lives.
Passalen
Passalen enables children and young adults with disabilities to participate in society.
Changers Hub
Changers Hub opens up opportunities for young people who lack networks, so that they can create a sustainable future through education, employment and entrepreneurship.
Området
A martial arts association in Flemingsberg that creates a safe space where children and young people meet local adults who understand them. At Området, they gain tools to build their self-confidence and discipline.
Vision Generation Boll
At VGB, children in Järva take part in activities that support, develop and challenge them. The children gain greater confidence in both their own abilities and in society.
Looking ahead
A key priority going forward is to counteract the transition from childhood to criminality. Inkludera does this by selecting, funding and developing organisations with strong local roots and a high degree of local trust. Inkludera has also worked to carry out knowledge-building and system-changing initiatives in the social and public sectors, including beyond its core portfolio. The goal is always the same – for effective social innovations to reach many people and become national solutions.
